About Dave Hardy Music

Dave Hardy & the Blue Clavon Orchestra continues the long tradition of the Hardy family who have performed music for social and formal occasions over many generations dating back to our great great grandfather who was a professional bandmaster, musician and composer in 1861.

As a young boy I was always fascinated by the world of music and I remember when my father brought us to a family concert for the first time. 

We all sat in the front row of the audience and I was totally spellbound by the musicians who were playing right in front of me on the stage.

The music that they performed created a level of happiness in the auditorium that I had never experienced before and I loved it!

Shortly after that concert I joined the Artane Band and I distinctly remember how our performances brought so much happiness to a wide variety of audiences throughout the country.

In later years I began to notice how music could create a very special atmosphere as I played for weddings, gala dinners, charity balls, corporate events, musical theatre productions, concerts, television, international music festivals and official state events.

While studying music in University College Dublin, I formed my own ensemble for a lunchtime concert and the Blue Clavon Orchestra was born.

Dave Hardy & the Blue Clavon Orchestra continues the long family tradition of spreading joy and happiness through music and we look forward to doing this for many years to come!
